Professional regulations of attorneys at law

• The professional regulations applicable to lawyers can be viewed and accessed on the homepage of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers under the heading „Berufsrecht“. This includes in particular:

• BORA – Professional Code of Conduct for Lawyers
• FAO – Specialist attorney regulations
• RVG – Law on the Remuneration of Attorneys at Law
• CCBE – Code of Conduct for Lawyers in the European Community
• EuRAG – Law on the Activities of European Lawyers in Germany

Professional liability insurance

Lawyers are obliged by law to take out professional liability insurance in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Lawyers‘ Act.

Attorney Melanie Daube is covered by professional liability insurance with HDI Hannover, HDI-Platz 1, 30659 Hannover.Versicherung AG.
The scope of the professional liability insurance is the European Union.

Provision of services

The consulting services of Melanie Daube are provided exclusively on the basis of a mandate agreement to be concluded separately, which includes the scope of services as well as the individually negotiated remuneration. Avoidance of conflicts of interest

Attorneys are prohibited from representing conflicting interests by professional regulations (§ 43a para. 4 BRAO). Before accepting a mandate, it is therefore always checked whether there is a conflict of interest.

In the event of disputes between lawyers and their clients, it is possible, upon request, to settle disputes out of court with the regional Chamber of Lawyers (pursuant to § 73 (2) no. 3 in conjunction with § 73 (5) BRAO) or with the conciliation body of the legal profession with the Federal Chamber of Lawyers (§ 191f BRAO), which can be found on the Internet on the homepage of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers or by e-mail: schlichtungsstelle@brak.de
